Harmeet's Legal Career

After graduating from law school, Harmeet served as a law clerk for one year for the Honorable Paul V. Niemeyer of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit in Baltimore, Maryland. Following internships at the nonprofit Center for Individual Rights and the Civil Division of the Department of Justice, Harmeet practiced complex business litigation at international law firms, including Shearman & Sterling in New York and London, and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in San Francisco.

Harmeet is a founder and partner of the law firm Dhillon & Smith LLP. Her expertise encompasses international litigation and arbitration, and in addition to being admitted to practice law in New York and California she is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. Her practice includes entertainment law, private company/investor transactions, and WiMax spectrum transactions and litigation. Her clients have ranged from venture capital partnerships to e-commerce leaders, Fortune 100 companies and educational institutions.

Harmeet also uses her legal expertise for the benefit of her community. She serves as legal counsel for the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Lohgarh Sikh Educational Foundation, and the Sikh Coalition.
