Harmeet's Republican Activism
Harmeet is a member of the San Francisco Republican County Central Committee, effectively representing San Franciscans living in the 13th Assembly District. She now hopes to represent all residents of the 13th AD in Sacramento. Harmeet has statewide experience as a member of the California Republican Party, appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She has been elected by her peers to serve on the Platform Committee of the state party and appointed by party leadership to the Resolutions Committee.
Harmeet has also been a leader in Republican volunteer organizations: She co-chaired Bay Area Lawyers for Bush/Cheney 2004, she served as general counsel of the San Francisco Young Republicans, and she is a director of the California Women's Leadership Association, an organization dedicated to bringing together influential conservative women to effect positive change. She is also currently co-chair of San Francisco Lawyers for John McCain. Her political involvement began during the 1988 presidential election, when she was chair of Dartmouth Students for Jack Kemp.
