Promoting the Family
It
is important to recognize and support the uniqueness and diversity of
all families, which are the foundation of society. I believe families
have the primary responsibility in the development of our youth.
Adoption of children into loving families is an opportunity to have a
positive impact on their lives, and the restrictive regulations on
adoption be should be streamlined for easier placement.
Families
are entitled and must be empowered to make fundamental choices for
their members, including education, healthcare, and fundamental moral
and ethical decisions. Women should have the same rights and privileges
as men, including the right to serve in the military in positions
commensurate with their physical capabilities. Proven perpetrators of
domestic violence should be treated seriously by local and state law
enforcement authorities. Parents who flout their child support
obligations and who do not obtain relief from the courts of such
obligations should be dealt with firmly by the court system for their
contempt of their parental obligations.
