The Right to Privacy
The
United States Constitution and fundamental natural law recognize the
right of the individual to be free from unnecessary government
surveillance and regulation. Unbridled government supervision and
intrusion violates the right of the individual to be free from
government scrutiny. I oppose national identification cards for
citizens and the collection of private data for government and
commercial purposes without the express permission of consumers. I
oppose the creation of vast medical, banking/credit and other databases
that collect private information for unknown uses. Any surveillance by
the government must be approved by a judge after a showing of probable
cause to believe a crime may have been committed by the subject.
